The Artichoke

The tantalizing aroma fills my nose. Steam wafts up from it like tentacles reaching to the sky. Water drips off of the dark green leaves. It is smooth and in the shape of a ball. I tear off a piece and dip it in the sauce. Hungrily I scrape off the "meat" with my upper teeth. An explosion of flavor hits my mouth, satisfying every taste bud. I sigh in happiness. I quickly devour the succulent vegetable, stopping when I get to the delicate heart. After tearing off each hair, I bite in to the rich heart. It tastes delicious.
